The 10 Largest American Electrical Companies in 2026

A ranked look at the biggest publicly traded American electrical companies by market capitalization, from grid giants to backup-power specialists.

Electricity touches everything, and the companies that generate it, move it, and keep it running when the grid fails have become some of the most valuable industrial names in the country. The American Electrical industry, part of the broader Energy & Utilities sector, spans jet-engine-scale turbines, elevators, microchips, and home generators. Ranked by market capitalization in 2026, the ten largest players tell a story of a business that is both very old and suddenly very new again.

A Two-Company Tier Above the Rest

At the top sits General Electric Co, trading as GE on the NYSE, with a market capitalization of $342.2 billion. Headquartered in Evendale, Ohio, the company posted $45.9 billion in revenue for fiscal year 2025, a scale that puts real distance between it and everyone else on this list.

The Spinoff That Rivals Its Parent

Right behind it is GE Vernova Inc. (NYSE: GEV), based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, with a market cap of $250.9 billion and FY2025 revenue of $38.1 billion. Spun out of the GE family, Vernova has grown into a power-generation and grid-technology giant nearly as large as the parent company it came from.

The Industrial Middle Tier

Further down the list, market caps drop sharply but still represent substantial businesses. Emerson Electric Co (NYSE: EMR), headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, ranks third with a market cap of $77.4 billion and $18.0 billion in FY2025 revenue, reflecting its long history in industrial automation and controls.

Fuel Cells and Elevators

Close behind is Bloom Energy Corp (NYSE: BE), based in San Jose, California, valued at $75.0 billion despite comparatively modest FY2025 revenue of $2.0 billion — a gap that shows how differently the market can price growth-stage energy technology versus mature manufacturing. Otis Worldwide Corp (NYSE: OTIS), headquartered in Farmington, Connecticut, rounds out the top five with a $27.0 billion market cap and $14.4 billion in FY2025 revenue, built on its global elevator and escalator business.

Turbines, Generators, and Components

The next tier of companies is smaller in market value but no less specialized. INNIO N.V., trading under INIO, comes in sixth with a market capitalization of $24.2 billion. Woodward, Inc. (NASDAQ: WWD), based in Fort Collins, Colorado, follows in seventh place with a $21.3 billion market cap and FY2025 revenue of $3.6 billion, drawing on its aerospace and industrial controls expertise.

Backup Power for Homes and Businesses

GENERAC HOLDINGS INC. (NYSE: GNRC), headquartered in Waukesha, Wisconsin, sits eighth with a market cap of $15.4 billion and $4.2 billion in FY2025 revenue, built largely on its generator and standby-power business. Essentially tied with it is Forgent Power Solutions, Inc. (NYSE: FPS), based in Commerce, California, also at a $15.4 billion market cap but with a much smaller FY2025 revenue figure of $753.2 million.

Rounding Out the Top Ten

Closing the list is LITTELFUSE INC /DE (NASDAQ: LFUS), headquartered in Rosemont, Illinois, with a market cap of $11.6 billion and revenue of $1.2 billion reported for fiscal year 2017. Littelfuse's circuit-protection components are a reminder that even the smallest parts of the electrical supply chain can carry significant market value.

What the Ranking Reveals

Taken together, the list — drawn from the full Electrical companies directory — shows an industry weighted heavily toward a couple of massive players at the top, with a long tail of specialized manufacturers whose valuations don't always track neatly with their revenue.
